Robert Pattinson: My music can be depressing

25th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robert Pattinson thinks his music is depressing and is concerned no one will like it.

The hunky British actor is famed for his role as Edward Cullen in the vampire saga Twilight, but doubles up as a singer-songwriter in his spare time.

The 24-year-old plays music according to how he feels revealing he often uses it to channel his feelings when hes low.

"I see myself playing in a rundown blues bar, with about three people drowning their sorrows, he told British newspaper The Sun. I play according to my mood, and sometimes that can come across as very depressing in music."

International music mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly trying to get Robert to sign on the dotted line to produce an album with his record company, but the dark-haired celebrity is so far resisting the 51-year-olds escalating offers.

Robert claims to be too self-centred with his own tracks to consider a record deal.

"I love Simon, I think he is a great personality and I think his shows are entertaining. He is a clever guy and he created artists that he knows the public will like, that's why I don't think he could ever launch my music career, Robert revealed.

"I am selfish with my music. I get my guitar and I play what I like, but the problem is I don't think many other people would like it."

Instead, Robert can see himself becoming the kind of musician whose work only becomes hailed after his death.

The star who was named one of Hollywood's Most Influential Top Unexpected Musicians last year - added that one day he thinks people will see the talent and creativity in his songs.

I am sure I'll be one of those artists that people don't pay any attention to while I'm alive, and when I am dead people will go, Yeah, man, that was a work of art," he joked. (C) Cover Media
