Rose Byrne can handle rejection

12th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rose Byrne has revealed that she is "less traumatised" these days if she doesn't win an acting role.

The star says that she has learnt how to overcome the feeling of rejection without getting melodramatic. The X-Men: First Class actress explained that often the roles you miss out on aren't the best ones in the first place.

"I cope better than I used to. I'm less traumatised by roles that I lose out on, because they're often not that great to begin with," she told Psychologies magazine. "It gets harder to find roles as a woman that you're sad about losing. If I do lose out I give myself a couple of days to feel blue and cry. I keep busy doing something to make myself feel better, such as exercise. There's no mystery. I don't have to go skydiving if I don't get a role."

The 31-year-old also revealed that she knows exactly what she wants when it comes to her career.

Rose, who can also be seen in comedy Bridesmaids, insists that she wasn't scared to put her foot down to avoid being typecast.

"I'm persistent behind the scenes. I'm ambitious about doing different genres, so I was on my management's case about getting me comedies," she explained. (C) Cover Media
