Rosie O'Donnell staffers speak out

19th March 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rosie O'Donnell's show on OWN was axed last week and now some of her former staffers are speaking out.

As The Rosie Show comes to an end, as confirmed by network boss Oprah Winfrey, behind the scenes drama is being unveiled.

One staffer told The Daily Beast that it was not a pleasant environment to work in at times.

"It was such a f**king hellhole," the employee said adding that the host sometimes became overwhelmed with what was going on.

"O'Donnell uncontrollably yelled at a publicist backstage because she didn't like the parameters agreed upon for an interview," the source alleged.

Several crew members were also upset "when O'Donnell clashed with Oprah Winfrey's longtime director Joe Perry."

"People thought she humiliated him when she scolded him in front of a live audience for using the wrong camera shots," the insider added.

Oprah had said in her statement that she was "grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all."

The show premiered last October to mixed reviews and although it started with a healthy 500,000 viewers it apparently lost nearly half of its audience after the first three days.

Rosie recently sold the house she purchased in Chicago, where the show was being filmed, after just one day of it being on the market. (C) Cover Media
