(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Gosling prefers working with directors he knows well to avoid "miscommunication".
The 30-year-old Canadian actor cites Derek Cianfrance and Nicolas Winding Refn as two of his favourite moviemakers, having worked with them on Blue Valentine and Drive respectively.
Ryan thinks both films work so well because of the bond between himself and the director, and cannot abide working with less communicative filmmakers.
"It's hard when you don't know a director. You spend half the movie developing a dialogue, and lose chances to do something great due to a miscommunication between you, or something's off," he told Empire.
Ryan confessed that in the past he has found directors have been intimated by him. He isn't sure why, and thinks it must be a case of the moviemakers in question not understanding him.
"I have encountered that," he replied when asked if directors are sometimes scared of him.
"I think that's why I'm interested in working with the same people." (C) Cover Media
