(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Phillippe reportedly sent his pregnant ex-girlfriend $5,000 worth of gifts for her baby shower.

In March, it emerged that the actor's former lover Alexis Knapp is expecting a baby. The pair had already split when the news was made public, and she has reportedly been telling those close to her that Ryan is the father.

The movie hunk already has two kids with his ex-wife Reese Witherspoon, Ava, 11, and seven-year-old Deacon. He is prepared to take full responsibility if the child is his, and showed Alexis he is serious when he heard it was her baby shower earlier this month.

According to In Touch magazine, he shocked her by secretly organising for $5,000 worth of presents to be delivered to her home.

"He wasn't invited, but heard about the shower and sent some amazing gifts, including a crib," a source told the publication.

It's thought Ryan and Alexis have been making every effort to stay civil since the baby news was revealed.

"He still wants a DNA test, but they're getting along," the insider added.

At the time the pregnancy was revealed, Ryan, 36, was dating Amanda Seyfried. They have since parted ways, but it's been claimed the romance was never that serious. (C) Cover Media
