(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Reynolds says all his acting experiences are the same once he gets into the nitty-gritty.
The 33-year-old Canadian star plays the lead role in Rodrigo Cortes low-budget movie Buried, about a US contractor working in Iraq who finds himself buried alive inside a coffin after being attacked.
He also stars as a wisecracking test pilot in Martin Campbells action film Green Lantern, opposite Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, which cost considerably more to make due to all the special effects.
Despite appearing in a range of different movies recently, Ryan says that once the filmmaking process begins, the same problems always arise and his acting experience rarely changes.
I just find it funny that when youre into the nitty-gritty of the film... its the exact same experience! he laughed in an interview with Empire magazine.
The actor thinks producers never secure a large enough budget or a sufficient shooting period, meaning issues concerning money and time often come up.
Whats strange is, they all feel like the same process. I leave this $1 million set in Barcelona and I step onto the $200 million set in New Orleans, and Im seeing the same problems: theres not enough time, theres not enough money, he explained.
Ryan enjoys playing roles in various types of films as he wouldnt like to be typecast and takes a great deal of pleasure in shocking fans with his movie choices. I think its important to mix things up, to keep em guessing, to some degree, he said. (C) Cover Media
