(Cover) - EN Movies - Ryan Reynolds says the scene where the Green Lantern oath is first spoken in the upcoming movie is "magical".

The actor stars as Hal Jordan in superhero movie Green Lantern, which is released later this month. Hal is given a ring which provides him with otherworldly powers, and also permits him to become one of the Green Lantern Corps. who protect the universe.

The squadron are famed for repeating the Green Lantern oath, and Ryan says the first time it's uttered on screen is outstanding.

"The Green Lantern oath is the one kind of enduring statement about the Green Lantern that encompasses everything they are. It's what they stand for, it's their code," he explained, in a behind-the-scene video.

"When he's given his ring, he's told to place the ring and speak the oath. What's interesting is just pulled out of him through the ring and the lantern and that's when we first hear it. It's a pretty magical scene."

The ring enables the wearer to do anything they wish just by thinking of it. That makes for some terrific scenes in the picture, which is one of the reasons Ryan was so keen to take part.
