17th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Reynolds was obsessed with mowing the lawn when he was growing up.

The actor is well known for his good sense of humour and has written a farcical magazine autobiography titled Why I'm obsessed with Ryan Reynolds. He describes his childhood and move to Hollywood in the piece for Entertainment Weekly.

He revealed his brothers used to be quite rough with him when they were growing up, and how he became one of Hollywood's most popular waiters.

"In the Reynolds household, family came first," Ryan writes. "He spent a great deal of time with his older brothers and, in turn, his brothers were very close to him. Usually within striking distance. Fun to bruise and generally considered to be emergency food,' he was teased for being the sensitive kid who liked to mow the lawn and get punched in the face."

The Canadian star also described his arrival in Los Angeles, eager to make it in the film industry.

"After moving to Los Angeles at the tender age of 19 armed with only $600 and a rape whistle he quickly established himself as one of Hollywood's most dynamic and immensely talented waiters," he said.

Ryan, who is currently promoting his new movie Green Lantern, explained why he thinks the movie has blockbuster potential.

He thinks Green Lantern is potentially the most interesting superhero because he works in outer space.

"The truth is, of all the superheroes, he's the most interesting. We go to another planet. We have an intergalactic police force protecting the universe it's an extraordinary scenario for a superhero that is basically afraid. Batman and Superman are very Earth-bound by comparison," he explained. (C) Cover Media
