(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Seacrest feels like a new age Dr. Dolittle.

The American Idol host recently bought a massive nine-bedroom, 11-bathroom, 9,200-square-foot home from Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.

The sprawling Beverly Hills estate that had been listed for $49 million is filled with wonderful wildlife including birds and squirrels that Ellen requested Ryan to look after.

Ellen apparently left Ryan a welcome gift of a 10-pound bag of unsalted sunflower seeds and a 50-pound bag of bird feed.

"Ellen and Portia had set up dozens of feeding posts for the wildlife when they lived there, and they expect Ryan to carry on the tradition of feeding the animals," a source told The Enquirer.

"Although he feels a bit like Dr. Dolittle when he strolls the home's massive acreage, he's agreed to do what Ellen asked."

Ryan is currently searching for a buyer for his former Los Angeles property which is listed on the market for $11.985 million. (C) Cover Media
