Salma Hayek escaped harm from a potentially "very bad" accident on the set of her latest film.
The actress is currently promoting her new animation Puss in Boots. Salma voices the character Kitty Softpaws in this spin-off from the Shrek franchise. Antonio Banderas lends his voice to the title character.
Although she spent much time in the comfort of a recording studio during the shoot, Salma recalls an incident where a wall nearly toppled on her while she was taping dialogue.
"We were working in Boston I think. What was really strange and I think it's like the peripheral vision or something, but what was really strange was that I was talking into the mic and all of a sudden my instincts just said, RUN!' and I didn't know why. If I had thought about it, Hmm, what is going on?' I it would have been very bad. I think I used up one of my nine lives," Salma gushed to Cover Media.
The collapsing wall had a lot of force. Salma credits her intuition with saving her from injury.
"I can't really tell exactly how it was but I will tell you that we were recording in the studio and all of a sudden the wall came down. I'd just moved out and it crushed the chair it was really scary," Salma explained. "It sounds funny but it really crushed the chair that I was in."
Salma and Antonio have worked together before on 1995 action thriller Desperado. The dangerous stunts the pair performed on the film was no match for the falling wall in the Puss in Boots studio.
"After all the stunts we did together to die in the recording studio!" Salma laughed.
Puss in Boots is released in the UK on December 9.
