(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Salma Hayek has been included in France's New Year's honours list and will receive the coveted Lgion d'Honneur.
The 45-year-old Hollywood star was among those named by President Nicolas Sarkozy to enter the five-tiered academy with the grade of Chevalier or Knight.
Sarkozy will present with her the honour at a ceremony where she will receive the formal induction.
Other celebrities including Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Robert De Niro have received the rosette in the past.
Salma's father-in-law, retired retail billionaire Francois Pinault, was also named and promoted to the rank of Grand Officer the country's highest civilian decoration.
The Mexican actress married Frenchman Francois-Henri Pinault on Valentine's Day 2009. They are parents to three-year-old daughter Valentina.
She recently told Redbook that she loves not having to worry about money.
"I work hard, I make my own living and I love it," she said. "I like having financial independence. I don't ever want to have to depend on anyone completely." (C) Cover Media
