Salman announces Katrina Kaif as 'Bharat' leading lady

After Priyanka Chopra's exit from Ali Abbas Zafar directorial 'Bharat' for some special reason as earlier mentioned, fans across India were disappointed and curious at the same time as who would be the female lead opposite Salman Khan.

A huge sigh of relief for those fans as Katrina Kaif has been locked in as the female lead. Khan introduced the 'Tiger Zinda Hai' actress with a lot of grace. Sharing Katrina's pic Salman captioned, ''Ek sundar aur shusheel ladki jiska Naam hai Katrina Kaif..Swagat hai aapka #Bharat ki zindagi mein." 

The film went on floors earlier this month and it kicked-off the first schedule including a grand circus sequence featuring Khan and Disha Patani. The film will span in between pre and post Independence era. It will also require lean and slim Salman from the early 1920's as the actor will be seen in the different stage of his life.

Moreover, Katrina will join the shooting schedule from September. 'Bharat' is an official adaptation of the South Korean film – Ode To My Father. Bankrolled by Atul Agnihotri's Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, the film is slated for Eid release next year.

Salman and Katrina have worked together in films like 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya', 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' and 'Bharat' will mark their fourth appearance together.
