Sanah Kapoor takes the 'Khajoor Pe Atke' quiz

7th May 2018

A debut entry in Bollywood with Vikas Bahl's 'Shaandaar' her onscreen character of Eesha Arora tickled our funny bones. Yes, we are talking about Sanah Kapoor the BIG Star Most Entertaining Actor (Film) Debut - Female with a Nomination of Stardust Award for Best Supporting Actress.

The 26-year-old has her next project in line and this time with Harsh Chhaya directorial film titled 'Khajoor Pe Atke' that has a wide ensemble cast of Vinay Pathak, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Alka Amin, Nagesh Bhonsle, Sanah Kapoor, Dolly Ahluwalia, Sunita Sengupta and many more. While here we had a word with Sanah in the context of the film with a sweet little interview as follows.

How did this film happen to you?
-  I got a call one day saying we like to screen test you, I said sure and they screen tested me, I said please send me the script so they did send me the script, I read it and rest is history.

After Shaandaar we see you in yet another film and this time as Nayantara Sharma urf Rosy, what looks like a chulbuli innocent girl. How much did you enjoy this role?

- I had a great time with it because it is quite different from my character in 'Shaandaar'. Yes this character is actually chulbuli, so it was fun to working with this director and this cast and doing something different this time as I thoroughly enjoyed the character.

Vinay Pathak, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Alka Amin a lot of seniors to learn from, how do you seek this film as a learning actor? Which was your favourite character of all?

- I think I learnt a lot through this process because working with such veteran actors, I learned how spontaneous they are and how their mind is always on it with the character they play. They are ready to improvise, they are catching up on each other and its a great experience to just observe how one should be on the set, always attentive, always there with their presence of mind and co-operating to whatever the director's requirement is. I have really learned a lot from them. And my favourite character I would say is Me myself in the film. Because I loved my character and I literally enjoyed it.

A Khajoor Pe Atke moment from your life you would like to share?

- I have realised it recently that for me the Khajoor Pe Atke moment would be my exams. Specifically my Maths paper, I was really really bad at Maths. In my prelims where I really worked hard for my Maths paper and I studied and I was like finally done and the pressure is off and finally when the result came and I failed so I was back on to the subject like aasmaan se tapke aur Khajoor pe Atke moment for me.
