Sun Pictures COO Hansraj Saxena, who was arrested on Sunday in connection with a cheating case, was remanded to police custody on Tuesday. The K K Nagar police arrested Saxena on Sunday, following a complaint lodged by T S Selvaraj, a film producer, that the former had cheated him of Rs 82.53 lakh over distribution rights for screening of Tamil flick Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai.

On January 5th, when he approached Saxena over the issue, he was allegedly threatened. Saxena was produced before 9th Metropolitan Magistrate Thirumagal at Saidapet and was remanded in police custody till July 7th. The arguments went on for nearly three hours before the court adjourned for lunch. A composed Saxena, in jeans and a shirt , was accompanied by friends and colleagues . He was seen exchanging pleasantries with them during the lunch break. Hansraj Saxena is a close associate of Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran.
