(Cover) - EN Movies - Scarlett Johansson is starring in a music-themed movie.

The Hollywood actress has signed up to play a singer-songwriter in the romantic comedy Can a Song Save Your Life?.

The film is to be produced by Judd Apatow, who has worked with several box office hits including Get Him to the Greek and Knocked Up.

The movie focuses on the story of a "washed up" A&R man and a young songstress, who strike up a friendship in New York, according to The Post.

John Carney, whose work includes Disco Pigs and Misterman, will be helming the movie from his own script. The director, whose 2006 low-budget indie musical film Once won an Oscar, is excited to work alongside the Hollywood star in the upcoming film.

"I went out to Los Angeles to meet Scarlett a couple of months ago. She was everything you could imagine - very hot, elegant and she's really smart," he told the publication.

Although no other actors have been confirmed for the movie, Scarlett's rumoured co-stars include Mark Ruffalo and Jim Carrey.

Shooting will begin in New York next year. (C) Cover Media
