(Cover) - EN Star Style - Selena Gomez insists she is a "normal" girl with insecurities just like everybody else.

The singer-and-actress is a regular on the red carpet, but has revealed she sometimes feels uncomfortable being the centre of attention.

Selena believes "beauty" is not what someone looks like on the outside but rather the confidence that they exude, and she tried to keep this is mind.

"To me, beauty is confidence. I think I'm pretty confident in the decision and choices I make in my personal life and career but at the same time I also let my fans know that, just like them, I have insecurities," Selena tells Bliss magazine."I have moments when I don't feel good about myself. I think people can forget that, at the end of the day, I'm just a normal girl dealing with lots of the same issues as them."

Selena is often overwhelmed at red carpet event. The stunning star has trouble coordinating her poses to the varying photographers and press and sometimes leaves early to avoid hassle.

"I'm always so awkward on the red carpet. I just stand there and don't know what to do while photographers are shouting at me and sounding really angry. Then I just walk off!" she quipped.

Selena makes her fashion choices for herself. The pretty star says dressing to impress someone else never "works out".

"When I was growing up I went through so many trends and copied so many looks just to fit in, but it doesn't really work out in the end," she explained. "Ultimately, if you do get the guy because of the things that you're pretending to be, you're going to end up unhappy because you're not being who you really are." (C) Cover Media
