Shah Rukh finalised for 'Bajirao Mastani'

'Bajirao Mastani' is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project but unfortunately it had to be shelved, reason being Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's major break-up. Bhansali had announced the project with them when he was shooting for 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' (HDDCS).

Next on Sanjay's mind for playing Bajirao was Ajay Devgn, the actor who played the parallel lead to Salman in HDDCS, but things could not work out between the two.

Shah Rukh Khan and Bhansali worked together in 'Devdas', but later a cold war had begun between the two when their films 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Saawariya' clashed at the box office.

Things started getting better between them when they met to support Bhansali's sister Bela Sehgal's film 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi'.

And when the two met again on the sets of 'Ram Leela', SRK expressed his desire to work with Bhansali mentioning his film 'Bajirao Mastani. Bhansali immediately gave a nod and was happy to be reuniting with the star.

Now let's see who will be Bajirao's Mastani, Kareena Kapoor Khan who Bhansali wants to work with since a long time or his original choice Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
