Shahab Durazi, Arjun Khanna Clothsline A Huge Success At The Couture Week

12th October 2010

October 12, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The HDIL India Couture Week has been a hit so far, with the whos who of Bollywood largely contributing to its grand success, on the ramp or as the spectator. Shahab Durazi and Arjun Khanna are probably the only two designers whose works have been praised not for their showstoppers, but for the wonderful collections that both the designers showcased on the fourth day of the fashion week. Sadly for Bollywood, Arjun Rampal and Abhay Deol clearly failed to grab eyeballs, it was their clothes instead.

The Arjun Khanna clothesline was all about great textures and cuts designed using the best quality wool and cotton. The Arjun Khanna fashion line ranged from flowing coats and dungarees to leather jackets and sherwanis for men. Also part of the collection were golf hats, slim-fit trousers and leather bags. Models on the ramp walking for Arjun Khanna were made to carry guns and cameras, the idea being to make them look like travelers and warriors. The set designs and choreography, too, were in line with the fashion range.

The Shahab Durazi collection, too, on the other hand, was one that exuded sophistication and detailing. Though the designer is not as popular as his contemporaries, this fact did not in the least affect the cheers that he received at the end of show. His collections comprised of only three colors, black, white and red. Skirts, gowns, jackets and belts were a part of his collection at the India Couture Week. His was a collection for women, with the showstopper Arjun Rampal donning the only male costume.
