(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Shania Twain loves spending time in New York at Christmas, so was thrilled to visit the city with her new fianc recently.

The country music star confirmed she is engaged to Swiss-born Nestle businessman Frdric Thibaud earlier this week, although he actually popped the question two months ago.

The pair are looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together, and cant wait for their first Christmas as an engaged couple. They got into the festive spirit last weekend by spending time in New York together, where they went shopping for gifts and ate in their favourite restaurants.

They had a great time in New York, a source told People magazine. They did tons of Christmas shopping and ate out at places like Nobu and Serafina. She loves taking in the sights New York has to offer during the holidays. It's her favourite time of year there.

Shania travels to the city every Christmas, as its the one thing which really gets her in the festive mood. This time round, she and Frdric were joined by a group including her sister and some pals.

The musician and her now-fianc were first spotted on the annual trip to New York with each other two years ago, but at the time they were just friends. It was shortly after Shania marriage to Robert John Mutt Lange had broken down after he allegedly had an affair with one of her best friends, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, who was married to Frdric at the time.
