Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' went on to become a landmark film in the history of Indian cinema and continues to be popularly remembered film to this day.
Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, 'Bajirao Mastani' went on to gross an approximate 250 crores and earned National Awards in six categories, apart from sweeping honors at the popular awards.
To mark the film's first anniversary, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali threw a celebratory dinner for the cast and crew of the movie on the sets of his current film, 'Padmavati.'
The team dropped on the sets for an hour-long celebration, including a cake-cutting session and a traditional Puneri Maharashtrian dinner for 250 unit members. While Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra were not in the city, Deepika Padukone managed to join the celebrations .
Says a unit source, "Sanjay Leela Bhansali was flooded with congratulatory messages on the occasion of Bajirao Mastani completing a year. He wanted to celebrate the occasion with the team of the film. A traditional Puneri Maharashtrian dinner was organized for 250 unit members by a Dadar-based catering service."
The lead cast took to a popular micro-blogging site to talk about the film and thanked Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Priyanka Chopra, who played Bajirao's first wife Kashibai in the period drama, tweeted last evening, "Thank u for making #Kashibai such a memorable character. Love u, Sanjay sir."
