The Columbian actress, who stars in hit US show Modern Family, has recently been unveiled as the newest face of the beauty brand.

The 38-year-old beauty says the lucrative appointment is a dream come true.

It feels amazing. Ive always wanted to be a CoverGirl. I always loved seeing the pictures of the campaigns in magazines, she said in an interview with People. When you grow up, you look up to girls in the magazines, and you never think youre going to be that pretty, or that well made-up, or that glamorous.

Sofia has admitted she is no stranger to cosmetics. The star had a fascination with make-up from a young age.

My mother used to do her make-up every day, and I used to watch her, just fascinated, she shared. Ive always had a very good relationship with make-up; its one of my favourite things.

Sofia is also proud to represent Latin women. She says it is rewarding to know that other women look up to her and try to recreate her styling.

I love that I have the Latin flavour; Latin girls can relate to me, see what Im wearing, see my make-up, my hairstyle, she said.

Sofias advertisements will debut in January 2012. She follows in the footsteps of current brand spokesmodels, including Drew Barrymore and Taylor Swift. (C) Cover Media
