Since the day Salman Khan has taken Sonakshi Sinha under his wings, the actress has been pinned as a contemporary to Katrina Kaif. 

Katrina was originally offered the role in 'Dabangg' which she had refused citing that she wouldn't look convincing as a desi girl. However, her denial turned out to be a blessing for Sonakshi, who became an overnight star with the film's success.

Later, she bagged a series of films opposite Akshay Kumar, another star who majorly worked with Katrina before Sonakshi came into picture. Sonakshi also replaced Katrina in a few commercials and all this gave birth to reports of cold war between Sonakshi and Katrina.

Though both the stars have always shunned the rumor, the gossip refused to fizz out. And now Sonakshi is tossing the blame on media for hyping the non-existent cold war between her and Kat. "I never had any problem with Katrina. We have always been cordial. I don't know from where the stories of rift came from. I feel it is a media created topic," said Sonakshi in her statement recently.
