Sonakshi Sinha seems to have taken the place of Katrina Kaif in Akshay Kumar's career. Though we are not trying to make any comparisons here but updates on Sonakshi's filmography compel us to think that way. Like Katrina was Akshay's leading lady in every film of his in the past few years, Sonakshi is on the verge of walking the same path. After she signed Shirish Kunder's 'Joker' with Akshay, she went on to sign Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, 'Rowdy Rathore', with him as well. She is now once again being considered to play Akshay's leading lady in the sequel to 'Once upon a time in Mumbaai'. In the film, Akshay is expected to ape Dawood's life and reportedly, Sonakshi is the chosen one to play his love interest 'Mandakini' on screen. Producer Ekta Kapoor and Director Milan Luthria, both consider Sonakshi a potential contender to be cast opposite Akshay but they haven't finalized anything yet.
If they finalize her and Sonakshi too gives her nod for the film, then this would be her third film with Akshay, a record that she till now only shares with Salman, as after 'Dabangg' she has signed two more films ('Kick and' 'Dabangg 2') with the hunky star.
