Freida Pinto made her debut with the highly acclaimed international project 'Slumdog Millionaire', and that made her the biggest star in Hollywood from the Indian descent.

Given her popularity, especially in the West, Bollywood producers have been trying to sign Freida for their projects, but the actress is apparently, quite meticulous when it comes to selecting them.

So it came as great news for fans and the domestic media when Frieda opted to sign an Anurag Kashyap project. Kashyap's 'NH 10' is a thriller, and Raj Kumar Yadav of 'Kai Po Che' fame was signed as the male lead opposite Freida. The actress was all geared up to commence the movie shoot in March this year, but when Freida visited India a few months ago, she was surprised to learn that the project start date was pushed ahead to June.

Freida made waves at the Cannes this year, and the actress was all set to fly to India in the anticipation of her film 'NH 10's shoot. But this time as well, Freida was greeted with the news that there was yet another change to the movie schedule, and the movie would now go on floors only in October.

Call it an impulse or a thought through decision, Miss Pinto decided to quit the project, and this turned out to be great news for Sonam Kapoor. Based on sources close to the production, Sonam was recently approached for the role, and although the actress has not signed on the dotted line, she has expressed her inclination to work on the project.
