News of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan opting for surrogacy and expecting their child as early as next month started making headlines last week in the media. It was all good news for the actor and the fans, until it was reported that the couple is aware of the sex of the child and that they are expecting a baby boy.
Sex determination of an unborn is against the law in India, so when Radiological and Imaging Associations (IRIA) learned about the news, it had set off alarms in the medical community, and this had promoted them to immediately demand the State Health Department to probe into the topic to get more insight on whether it was true that SRK and his wife were made aware of the sex of their unborn surrogate kid.
Accordingly, it was reported that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had visited 'Mannat' to question the couple on the validity of the news, and it was initially rumored that all was well on the topic and that the couple has no knowledge of the sex of the child.
But this morning, based on insiders, it has been confirmed that SRK has not yet been cleared of the accusation and the investigation is still in process by the Mumbai civic body. The news is catching more attraction as Activist Varsha Deshpande too has filed a complaint against the celebrity couple on the issue of sex determination of their unborn kid.
Let's hope the controversy settles by next month, so the couple along with their kids – son Aryan and daughter Suhana - can welcome their new born with no negative distractions from the media.
