Dhanush says 'Raanjhanaa' is different from South film '3'

20th June 2013

'Raanjhanaa', which features Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol, and also marks the debut of South star Dhanush in Bollywood, is all set to hit the big screens tomorrow. While the excitement in the production team is soaring high, the recent news in the media, comes as a distraction for Dhanush, as 'Raanjhanaa' is closely being compared with the Tamil flick '3'.

The South romantic film which featured Dhanush, and also marked the directorial debut of Dhanush's wife, Aishwarya – daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, badly bombed at the box office. The only sweet memory about '3' is the song 'Kolaveri Di', which turned out to be a global hit.

Dhanush could have easily ignored the news of his Bollywood debut film being compared to his debacle film, but given the time sensitivity of the news, the actor opted to come out in the media to express his views. Besides the scenes which show the characters in a school uniform, 'Raanjhanaa' and '3' have no similarities.

The actor further shared that '3' was based on a love story of two students from their 12th grade to their adulthood until they become a couple, and 'Raanjhanaa' is more on the relationship between a Hindu boy who falls in love with a Muslim girl.
