New age Bollywood films are taking the less travelled roads and achieving success. Biopics, women centric films and now movies without songs will make their way in tinsel town.

Maneesh Sharma's 'Fan' featuring Shah Rukh Khan apparently won't have any song in the movie. Makers believe Fan being a content driven movie song will take away the soul of the film and might cause distraction.  

A source reveals, "There are no songs in the film. It's a very content driven emotional tale and it does not need the typical Bollywood naach-gaana. Maneesh was very clear about that from day one. There will be two songs made purely for promotional purposes but they won't be there in the screenplay."

The source further adds, "Shah Rukh was busy wrapping up Raees' first schedule and then moved on to finish his first schedule with the Dilwale team in Bulgaria. He was back last week and despite his injured knee, he went ahead to complete the patchwork for Fan."

The makers are eyeing on Good Friday slot falling on March 25 next year or April 1 for release.
