Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are both trying their best to show their daughter "how loved she is."

Katie filed for divorce from Tom on June 29 and they reached a settlement less than two weeks later.

The 33-year-old actress is living in New York with her and Tom's six-year-old child Suri and is in the process of getting her life and career back on track.

Katie and Tom's top priority is Suri's welfare.

"She's looking forward to a rich life in the city with Suri," a source told People magazine.

"Her parents are doing everything to make sure she is happy, but that doesn't make her spoiled. It makes her lucky. They want to show her how loved she is."

Suri has ostensibly been having a blast with her parents this summer, visiting Disneyland recently with her father Tom and going to museums in New York with her mother.

Another insider close to the family is really impressed with the estranged couple's parenting skills.

"She's a happy kid," the insider said.

"Tom and Katie both understand what she needsthey're loving parents."
