A whole month of abstinence from food, prayers and visiting the holy place, Ramadan is a season of goodwill for one and all.

While everyone prepares for the big day, Eid, so does all the food makers and bakers around the city.

Hyderabad recently had the Times Biryani and Haleem Contest, where chefs from all over the city prepared their best Biryani and Haleem to be judged by the high ranked food critics.

The grand finale was judged by prominent Hyderabadis like Faiz Khan, Mumtaz Begam and the well known Tollywood actress Taapsee Pannu.

When asked about her experience exploring the nizami food, here's what Taapsee had to say, "Though I've been in Hyderabad for the last two years, I never got to taste the haleem. so, to be sampling the biryani and haleem from the best joints of Hyderabad, all under one roof at the same time, was a mouthwatering experience to say the least."

The actress took on the centre stage to handover the prices to the winners. Ending with a musical note, the guests were treated to a mesmerising ghazal evening with Pankaj Udhas.
