Actress Tanishaa Mukerji shared of having a traumatic experience during her recent visit to New York. The actress without holding back slammed the wrong-doers in her social media post instantly. Tanishaa was in New York to attend CRY America Charity gala when she faced racism. The incident took place when the actress was attending a party and one of the hotel employees, an African-American made an indecent remark about her.
A leading daily quoted her saying, "I don't understand what triggered it as I was polite, but he turned rude. One of the employees, an African-American, said that we looked as if we were fresh off the boat and couldn't speak English. That was insulting and blatantly racist. My friends and I were shocked. It's traumatic to experience this kind of racism in the US; I have never faced it earlier."
She was left unsupported by the hotel staff as well by refusing to call cops to instigate the matter and was stopped from recording. She further added, "I was trying to record the incident on my camera. The video I posted online ends abruptly because the guy stopped me and told me to switch my recorder off. It's unfortunate when you experience something like this in a land that stands for rights and liberty. I am saddened that an African-American behaved like this, considering they have experienced discrimination themselves."
She also took to her Twitter handle to share about her unfortunate experience, she wrote, "Racist horrible people," "Shiftiest place ever.! Racist horrible people @JaneHotelNYC." Click here to watch the video shared the actress.
