Taylor Armstrong wants her violent past to evoke "courage" in readers.
The 40-year-old The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star will be releasing her new memoir Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss and Finding the Courage Within early next year.
In this tome, Taylor opens up about the tumultuous relationship with her late husband Russell Armstrong.
"I want readers in abusive relationships to learn from my suffering and use my book to help them find their own courage within," Taylor told People magazine.
Taylor's intention was to be as direct as possible about her painful past experiences in this book.
"My book takes readers behind the glamour of Beverly Hills to show them the terrible violence I suffered, and the slow and painful process of rebuilding my shattered life," she explained.
Taylor's husband Russell was found dead in his Los Angeles home on August 15 after hanging himself. He was 47-years-old at the time.
Before Russell's passing Taylor had filed for divorce in July.
He was said to be distraught about the end of his marriage and a spiralling financial crisis.
Russell is survived by his two children with Taylor and a son from a previous marriage.
