Christie Brinkley has spoken out about the tax lien filed against her.

The model-turned-actress said she was shocked to find out she owed the IRS $531,720 and vows to put the matter right.

The 57-year-old blonde beauty is worth a small fortune thanks to her turn on Broadway, modelling deals, endorsements and real estate portfolio.

She was also once married to singing star Billy Joel and they have a daughter together, Alexis. Christie is reportedly worth $80 million.

"I regret not paying more attention to my accounting," Christie told TMZ. "I was surprised to learn of the tax lien filing and took immediate steps to rectify this matter.

"I discovered the tax lien was the result of an error. My taxes will be paid in full by Wednesday December 7 and I expect the tax lien to be released immediately thereafter.

"I regret not paying more attention to my accounting, but I have been, and remain focused on my whole family as both my parents navigate serious health issues."
