(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Teri Hatcher is to play Lois Lanes mother in an episode of Smallville.

The actress shot to fame as plucky journalist Lois in 90s American show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Dean Cain portrayed the strong superhero, and their pairing saw a new generation become obsessed with the two characters.

Smallville looks at Supermans early years, and at why he became a superhero. It has now been revealed Teri will star in episode eight of the tenth and final series of the show.

The edition is called Abandoned, and will see a young Lois, played by Erica Durance, find some videotapes of her late mother Ella.

No further details about the plot have been released.

Series ten of Smallville premieres in America on Friday. Not much is known about what will happen, although it has been revealed that Alan Ritchson will appear as superhero Aquaman.

I think all I can really say is its going to be darker this year, Alan has said. I think especially Aquaman gets a bad rap, kind of a sugar coated superhero, so to see some of the darker, edgier sides of these characters is going to be a lot of fun. (C) Cover Media
