There was much anticipation slung to 2012's super hit flick The Dirty Picture's world television premiere that was slated to arrive on a private television channel on April 21. The film which had got an 'A' (Adult) certificate for its world wide theatre release had undergone a massive editing process as the censor board had demanded a whopping 56 cuts for the television broadcasting. 

The team of the national award winning film re-edited the flick after which it got a U/A certificate. But the film which was slated to be aired twice on the same day was barred from being broadcasted as the Information and Broadcast Ministry stalled the screening at the last minute. 

The ministry, it is believed, told the television channel that it can air the film only after primetime slot at late night after 11pm. But as the channel announced the film to be broadcasted at 12pm and 8pm on the given date, it was barred from going ahead with its own decision. 

Tusshar Kapoor, one of the film's lead star on this eve expressed his grief online - "Really unfortunate that after all the necessary cuts and a valid UA certificate, The Dirty Picture could not be telecast today on Sony TV".

He later posted yet another hurtful comment that truly exemplified his disappointment over the incident. "Sad that in spite of being acclaimed for its entertaining realism & having won 3 National Awards the regulatory forces have stalled the show," wrote Tusshar.
