(Cover) - EN Movies - A remake of cult horror classic The Evil Dead is in the works.

The star of the controversial 1981 horror and its subsequent two sequels, Bruce Campbell, has confirmed that a remake is in the works. It's also believed that it's the series director, Sam Raimi, who will be helming the remake. And Bruce, who has worked with Sam on most of his films including the Spider-Man and Evil Dead movies, couldn't be happier.

"Believe in the remake, dawg! The project is real. In the works. Cool as hell. Scary as hell (sic)," Bruce posted on his Twitter page.

Dread Central are claiming the remake will be a low budget horror movie, much like the original was rather than its relatively big budget sequels.

If Sam signs on for the remake, it will be the second time in recent years that he has returned to the horror genre following Drag Me to Hell. The director had reinvented himself as a summer blockbuster helmer following the success of the Spider-Man movie. (C) Cover Media
