The Kings Speech: King George VI Retains The Dominance At The Golden Globe Nomination

December 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Tuesday morning in Beverly Hills, Los Angles Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel announced the nominees of the 68th Golden Globe Awards and once again establishing the dominance is British ruler King George VI through The Kings Speech. The historical drama landed with seven nominations this year and all of them are in major categories.

The director of the film Tom Hooper too t will be fighting it out with the other directors whose films are competing in the Best Motion Picture Drama, the films are The Fighter, Black Swan, The Social Network and Inception. Colin Firth has portrayed the role of King George VI will be vying for the Best Actor in Motion Picture Drama category while Helena Bonham Carter as King George VIs wife got the nomination in Best Actress in A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture .

The Kings Speech also occupied a spot in the Best Actor In A Supporting Role in A Motion Picture, Geoffrey Rush acted the part of an eccentric speech therapist of King George VI. Apart from all these the story of King George VI coming out of his speech disability got nominations in the Best Screenplay and Best Original Score too.

The film is now being considered among one of the elite films and it would be better if the cast and the nominees of the film do prepare a speech for Jan 16, 2011 when the Golden Globe Awards will be handed to the winners.
