The music of -Anjaana Anjaani released

20th August 2010

August 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The music of 'Anjaana Anjaani' has released and composer duo of Vishal and Shekhar are waiting for the response with bated breath. After all, not just have they composed for one of their biggest films till date, they have also re-entered into the music scene in a big way after a rather low 2009 with 'Aladin' being their sole release. With their music of 'I Hate Luv Storys' turning out to be a success and 'Anjaana Anjaani' carrying great buzz, Vishal and Shekhar are waiting for audiences' verdict.

"We have used sounds that have never been used before. There was a lot of madness here", Shekhar remembers the times when he and Vishal were pushed to the wall in order to get the perfect tune, "Siddharth (Anand) understands a tune even if we just play it on a guitar. He gets into the kind of zone where he expects something radically different. He wanted to make strong tunes which were totally different from what we had made for his earlier films.

Agrees Siddharth, who had A.R. Rahman compositions at the back of his mind when he took this decision. "This is what happens to me in case of Rahman's music as well. When you hear it for the first time, all you feel is that it is something different, case in point being 'Taal', 'Dil Se' or 'Delhi 6'. It's only later when you hear it repeatedly that you start considering it as fantastic. This is why Rahman's music is cut above everything else as it has it's own style and unique identity. Vishal-Shekhar haven't emulated him but given me similar results".

"These are simple songs that you get to hear in 'Anjaana Anjaani' and as Siddharth rightly says, we focused on this very factor that when you play the music for the first time, you should experience something", further reaffirms Vishal, "It should be simple and work at the basic as well as intellectual level."

No wonder, the happiest man out there is producer Sajid Nadiadwala who is assured that the hard work put by the team would definitely reap fantastic results. "I could see that happening as Vishal-Shekhar started churning out one tune after another. My condition was simple that if I am making a romantic musical, it better justify it's tag. There was never a requirement of only two or three songs being chartbusters. Each and every song had to be special, more so because 'Anjaana Anjaani' is the first ever true blue musical from my production house. The music had to be my best ever. Period."

Well, with the album out on stands, it is now audiences' turn to confirm if this indeed has turned out to be the best of the best that the team promises to offer.
