Tom Cruise was a "great gift" to work with, says his Mission: Impossible co-star La Seydoux.

The French actress-and-model portrays Sabine Moreau, a Russian assassin, in the newest instalment of the high-octane film franchise.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol sees Tom's character agent Ethan Hunt on a mission to complete another adrenaline-fuelled undercover operation.

La says the Hollywood actor was a joy to work alongside.

"It was a great gift for me, because I think he's one of the best actors. It was fantastic," she gushed to Cover Media at the UK premiere of the film last night.

La loved portraying the villainous character in the action movie. The stunning star says the training schedule beforehand was rigorous however.

"It was exciting, because I felt like a man," she laughed. "I trained for two months [beforehand], including martial arts."

La looked stunning in a floor-length black gown on the red carpet. The 26-year-old star says her pre-premiere plans are always last minute.

"There's always something that goes wrong before," she laughed.

"I don't make any plans I chose this dress at the last minute. It's Prada. I try to be chic."
