A Kanyakumari based association has issued a notice to the director and producer of Thambi Vettothi Sundaram, a Karan-Anjali starrer, saying that the film has portrayed their region and the lifestyle of the people there in bad light.
Following this, the yet-to-be-released film, which has been cleared by the Censor Board officials with an A certificate, will be screened later today for the members of the association. "This is to ensure that the film faces no trouble when it releases," says the producer.
Defending the film, Karan says, "There will be nothing wrong about Kanyakumari people in Thambi Vettothi Sundaram. In fact, director Vadivudayan wanted to make a film that will highlight the lifestyle of people in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border."
He adds: "The Censor Board officials, after watching the movie, appreciated our sincere efforts. They gave an A certificate for the film, with very few cuts. I request those opposing the movie to understand our motive and to support us."
