Updates on K-Town biggies!

3rd July 2012

With all big ticket films on cards, Kollywood is buzzing with news every day.

While some are shuffling to fix their release date, some are gearing up with extensive post production. Here are updates on three major films slated to release this year.

Kochadaiyaan: From the very first move, Kochadaiyaan is known for its grandeur and style. From the caste to the locations, the film has taken things to a completely new level and the buzz is that keeping up the tradition, the audio launch of Kochadaiyaan is slated to take place in Japan. The release is planned in the heart of Tokyo and multi-city premieres of the film are being planned across Los Angeles, London and India.

Billa 2: Thala’s 51st film is in the news almost every single day. The film was expected to have a grand audio launch but somehow the event had to be called off. While some say that a tiff between producer Sunil Kheterpal and distributor Aascar V Ravichandran over television rights caused the mishap, some believe that the organizers were not ready with enough content to arrange a three hour event. And if the above two reasons are not convincing enough, the third reason is that the library where the event was planned, withdrew the permission given to hold the trailer launch because of legal hassles.

Maatraan: Finally music composer Harris Jayaraj put an end to the title-tattle circling the industry. 'Final mixing for the songs of Maatran on process. Album will be out by this month. Good day,' wrote Harris in a post on his microblogging page. The film's audio rights have been bagged by Sony Music and Eros International, which has acquired the distribution rights, is planning to release the movie on 15th August.
