(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Usher and Kelly Clarkson have been confirmed to perform at this year's Billboard Music Awards.

The two music stars, Linkin Park and Nelly Furtardo have all joined the list of previously announced performers including Justin Bieber, The Wanted, Cee Lo Green, Carrie Underwood and LMFAO.

Adele is leading the way this year with a host of nominations, including Top Artist, Top Female and Top Album, while her smash hit song Rolling in the Deep is a contender in seven categories.

Rihanna has received 13 nods, while Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne are close behind with ten nominations each. Drake, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Scotty McCreery, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars are also in the running for top prizes.

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 20. The show will be broadcast live on ABC.

Modern Family stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell - who played married couple Phil and Claire Dunphy in the hit US TV show are teaming up again to lead proceedings at the prestigious ceremony. (C) Cover Media
