Usher is happy to debut his new album during off-Broadway show Fuerza Bruta this weekend.
The R&B superstar will appear in the theatrical performance this Saturday.
No one speaks during Fuerza Bruta and the narrative of the musical will be communicated through lights, song and dance.
Usher is excited to be revealing the tracks on his upcoming album Looking for Myself in the play, as he's eager to express his aesthetic range.
"This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," Usher told MTV News. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me [to perform at Fuerza Bruta], but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen."
Usher is hoping that audiences will appreciate the melding of genres during the performance.
"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of Fuerza Bruta would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," the musician explained. "When we began to explore different directions [for the show like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine... and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked."
Usher's album Looking for Myself will be released in June.
