30th January 2018

'Judwaa 2' actor Varun Dhawan is extremely excited as he unveiled his wax statue at the Hong Kong Madame Tussaud's museum. The actor's statue is beside some famous foreign personalities and he is the second Bollywood star to get an overseas statue at Hong Kong after Amitabh Bachchan to make it to this museum.

Varun announced the news last year in October saying, "It was a great experience to work with Madame Tussauds. I am so excited to get my wax figure in Hong Kong!" Recently, he shared an Instagram video where he is introducing himself to the wax statues of Hollywood stars like Nicole Kidman, Brad Pitt and ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

Madame Tussauds General Manager, Jenny You in an interview expressed her views that they had decided to wax Varun because of his growing popularity worldwide. She said, "Varun Dhawan is one of the most requested figures and we are delighted to be partnering with this popular Bollywood actor. Hong Kong is a multicultural metropolis which makes us a unique brand. Visitors can meet both Hollywood, Asian and also Bollywood stars here at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. The worldwide popularity of Bollywood films makes people in Hong Kong increasingly embrace Bollywood culture. Besides, India is the fourth largest ethnic group in Hong Kong. We are confident that Varun's figure will bring visitors an all-new experience."

The actor was accompanied by his family to the museum for the unveiling ceremony. Along him, the family too posed like the statue for a couple of images. Its an exact replica of the 30-year-old actor showing off his washboard abs in an eccentric coloured outfit.

Varun has wrapped up Shoojit Sircar's 'October' and he is committed to the shoot of Sharat Katariya helmed 'Sui Dhaaga - Made in India'. Take a look at the pics.
