Veerappan’s wife Muthulakshmi on Wednesday approached a court in Chennai, seeking a ban on the upcoming Tamil movie "Vana Yudham", alleging that it portrays her husband and the family in poor light.
Speaking to reporters, she said the court had ordered a stay till 26th January to the film titled "Vana Yudham" in Tamil and "Attagasa" in Kannada, both versions being produced and directed by A M R Ramesh of "Kuppi" and "Kaavalar Kudiyiruppu" fame.
Muthulakshmi said her family and Veerappan were being wrongly portrayed in the film and Ramesh was shooting the movie without her permission. 'The director has been claiming that the film is being made with my permission and my family. It is a false statement,' she said.
The slain forest brigand's wife made it clear that she would not allow film to be released unless the director consulted her about every scene. 'Because the movie could influence pending cases against me,' she added.
