Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar had sent shock waves across the country when he made a film on 'sperm donation' titled 'Vicky Donor'; an issue still not openly discussed in conservative India.
Though there were all kinds of speculations about the film, it turned out to be a critical and commercial hit proving that audiences are game for more of such experiments.
Shoojit too confessed recently that before its release there were worries over its acceptance but they were happy when audiences accepted it with open arms.
"Audience gave us the biggest award. We were worried about people's reaction to it. But we always wanted to put forth the real situation. We didn't want to make fun of infertility and we are happy that we were able to do some justice to the whole issue," said Shoojit.
While the film ended on a happy note, the filmmaker asserted that they are toying with the idea of a sequel too.
