Kollaikaran is actor Vidharth's next venture. The film is directed by Tamilselvan, who used to assist Seenu Ramaswamy previously, and will also see Sanchita Shetty sharing screen space with Vidharth.

While 'Mynaa' gave Vidharth a big break, his second film as hero 'Mudhal Idam' won accolades for his performance.

In 'Kollaikaran' Vidharth's character slowly progresses from a petty thief to one indulging in heinous crimes thinking that he can escape unharmed. What happens to the character as the movie progresses forms the crux of the story.

A major portion of this film has been shot in Kumbakonam and surrounding areas. The movie has music by Johan, while cinematography is by Yuvaraj.
