Actor Vijay is waiting for his much expected movie “Nanban” directed by Shankar. “Nanban” is all set to be released for 2012 Pongal. "Nanban" starring Vijay, Jiiva, Ileana, Srikanth, Sathyaraj is the remake of Bollywood hit movie 3 Idiots.

During a press meet Vijay says that he doesn't want to take up off-beat films. There has always been an allegation that Vijay doesn't  try to experiment and only plays safe with commercial entertainers. Responding to this Vijay informs that commercial format suits him well and he doesn’t want to come out of this as his fans like him in mass and commercial entertainers.

Vijay also informs that though he personally likes watching off-beat films his fans doesn’t like to see him in such films and he has already experienced the issues. Vijay is all happy with the outcome of his Diwali release “Velayudham”.

Vijay’s next release is “Nanban” being directed by Shankar which is the remake of Aamir Khan’s “3 Idiots”. Ilayathalapathy informs that “Nanban” which has Shankar’s unique stamp right from beginning to end and he feels happy to be a part of this film.
