Bollywood's renowned actor Vivek Oberoi is all set to play the lead in his close buddy Sanjay Gupta's next thriller. But unlike his previous film 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' with him, Vivek won't play a gangster in this film.

Vivek's character 'Maaya' was an instant hit with the masses and is touted to be one of the most memorable one of his career. But this time Sanjay has chosen to make him as a cop instead. He will be playing a dreaded cop in his next.

It is heard that Vivek's character is based on the real life cop Vijay Salaskar. Vivek who is riding high on the success of his film 'Krrish 3', is elated with the offer. Not many know that the two had developed cold vibes when Vivek turned down Sanjay's 'Shootout At Wadala' and were not on talking terms for a long time. However, they hugged and made up with each other when they crossed paths at a A-list wedding.

Recollecting the past, Sanjay confessed that they have let bygones be bygones.

"We have known each other for many years now and life is too short so, there is no point in holding on to an old issue," he said.

When Vivek was asked the same, he too confirmed. "I have a lot of love and respect for him. He has been big enough to forget the past and offer me a fantastic role," he added.
