(Cover) - EN Star Style - The stylist who discovered Chlo Sevigny has admitted her colleagues initially thought she was too weird looking.
The 36-year-old actress and former model was discovered as a teenager by Andrea Linett who is now fashion creative director at online auction site eBay.
Andrea admits she was astonished by Chlos quirky good looks when she first laid eyes on her, and had to convince her colleagues on the programme she was working on at the time of Chlos potential.
"I was the stylist for the Jane Pratt Show [Sassy editor-in-chief Jane Pratt's talk show]. So we were shooting a commercial for the TV show and I saw Chlo at a newsstand and I said to the producers, 'We have to put that girl in the commercial,'" Andrea explained in an interview with The Inside Source.
"And they said, 'Oh no. She's weird.' And I said, 'No you don't get it; she's amazing.' So I went up to her and I asked her and she said, 'Well, I'm actually cutting school. I live in Connecticut.' So she was playing hooky. So we put her in the commercial."
Andrea also recalled how Chlos mother was adamant there would be more to her daughters career than just modelling. The star ended up working as an intern with stylist Andrea, before going on to be the successful actress and fashion icon she is today.
"I gave [Sevigny] my number and her mother called me and said, 'I think it's great for her to model, but I think she should do something more worthwhile. So can she be your intern?' We said sure, we love her - she had already modelled for us for a while by then - and then she became our intern. She was like our mascot," explained Andrea. (C) Cover Media
