Why Ranbir gave Deepika's bash a miss?

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone claimed to be good friends even after their break-up; a reason why they worked together in 'Yeh jawaani hai Deewani' which was a huge hit. So when Deepika threw a bash to celebrate the grand year she had, Ranbir had to be invited.
 
However, the Kapoor lad avoided attending the party as his current lady love Katrina Kaif wasn't invited.
 
According to sources, the actor had no other plans or any shooting scheduled for that day. If he wanted he could have easily made it to Deepika's party but instead he stayed at home.
 
Since there are rumours that Katrina was not invited to her party, it is obvious why Ranbir chose not to show up.
